SORRENTO : WAITING FOR THE SUNSET

I cannot keep my eyes from staring at the breathtaking view as the car climbed through the winding highway leading to Sorrento, unraveling the view of the Gulf of Naples and the deceptively alluring Mt. Vesuvio (the volcano that burried the ancient city of Pompei).

As we drove through the sharp curves, the place kept on unveiling its natural beauty of the ever attractive coastline and the imposing view of the rocky mountains.

The stunning white rocks that capture and reflect the colors of the sunlight spread as far as my eyes can see.

As I marvel at the splendor of this place, my mind is lost for words and no, not even the pictures taken with my camera will ever be able to do justice. It keeps me in awe and as I stare at the magnificence of the mountains and the vastness of the sea, I shrink to the reality that we are but a minute detail in this wonderful planet.

There are places and moments after tiring days that keep my mind tranquil and my spirit light. And undoubtedly, this part of Sorrento is all that.

From where I stand, I see the center of Sorrento from a distance. They name resorts, subdivisions and posh living places after it.

As I take my time on the viewing deck waiting for the arrival of that moment when nature gradually turns into its beautiful blazing hues, I feel the gentle breeze engulfing me and nature bringing me serenity.

The world is just amazing! The transformation of colors from the subtle blue to flaming red as the day draws into night is enchanting.

To be in this place at this particular time feels equally magical and perfect.

Definitely priceless.

I wish the world will always remain as beautiful as it is. And I hope that we all know our shared responsibility for its preservation.

As the sun hid by the sea, the beautiful mark of colors remained some minutes more before the darkness of night engulfs this part of the earth, ready to boast another face of magnificence – a diamond studded sky.

I have no words anymore, just thankful to the Creator.
